The A’ Design Award & Competition has opened submissions for its annual celebration of design achievements across 196 fields, including architecture, product design, fashion, and other creative disciplines. Past winners have included the Arc One Lounge Chair, created by Deniz Ozdemir, and the Aero Grove Community Cultural Center, designed by Xinyun Li. Both projects have been exhibited globally and translated into multiple languages to broaden their reach.
Every participant receives access to a free online portfolio system, where they can create professional profiles, upload additional work samples, and showcase new designs. This tool remains available to all entrants, regardless of their success in the competition. The platform also hosts an online exhibition, giving visibility to both award winners and those whose submissions were not selected. All entrants, including non-winners, receive jury feedback and detailed score sheets to help refine their future work.
The competition evaluates submissions across six main categories: industrial design, architecture, product design, communication design, service design, and fashion design. Notable past winners include Hao Zhong’s Ascending Ground Community Library and Lyt X Studio’s revitalization of a UNESCO Ancient Theatre. These projects illustrate the competition’s recognition of diverse and impactful design work.
Winners gain multiple benefits beyond prestige. Their designs are promoted through magazine features, blog coverage, and inclusion in global design rankings. They also receive invitations to the annual gala event and can list their work for sale through the competition’s official channels. Additionally, recipients take home an awards trophy. The judging panel comprises international design academics, professionals, and press representatives, ensuring a thorough and fair assessment of all entries.
Submissions for this year’s competition must be submitted by September 30, 2026. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2027, with results published on a dedicated design news platform.
